History brief

American Eskimo are from the Spitz family of dogs, you will hear them referred to as spitz, Eskimo or the endearing term Eskie.

Contrary to its name it has nothing to Eskimo heritage and culture. During the 19th century in America, the breed performed regularly in trick-dog acts, circus performers, prized for their beautiful appearance, stunning visual appeal, intelligence and agility.

A small to medium size Nordic type dog the American Eskimo Dog is known for its bright white coat, jet black points (lips, nose and eye rims) and erect triangular ears. The breeds white double coat consists of a short, dense undercoat, with longer guard hairs forming an outer coat that stands out from the body.

I have been breeding for a couple of years and can honestly say it is one of the most satisfying and rewarding experiences I have had the pleasure to be a participant of. The smiles on the pups and their new families has left an everlasting paw print on my heart. I receive lots of updated photos, and thank you texts, from grateful families and having “The best dog in the world!”

My mother and sister have bred dogs throughout my lifetime, I now have an opportunity, time, commitment, devotion to continue breeding, fulfilling is an understatement.

With a deep appreciation, love and respect of the American Eskimo, we will strive to breed for the betterment of the breed set by AKC standards.
